Web development at Jarrett Bay, just like our custom boat construction, is a delicate balance of form and function. And with that said, we are pleased to introduce you to a boating web experience that is much more than just a redesign. Welcome to the All-New JarrettBay.com!
With the wide variety of products and services the Jarrett Bay family of operations has to offer our boating customers of all makes and models, it presented a unique and complex labyrinth for us to effectively share with our web visitors. We approached the project from a ground-up perspective, spending countless hours strategizing on how to best package our offerings and ensure you found exactly what you were looking for in as few clicks as possible.
From the outset, we identified several main objectives, the foremost of which was to put the core business – custom construction – on a pedestal. This started with combing the archives for detailed specs and photography on every custom build, as well as conceiving a lot of new content on Why Jarrett Bay Boatworks is as unique as our customers. An equally important objective was to better offer “1-click” access to what we identified as the six main services customers ask for at Jarrett Bay. This was achieved by the new tab system now appearing across the top of all of our main web sites, with direct links to the Yacht Sales, New Construction, Service, Apparel, Marine Parts & Ship’s Store departments.
Content-wise, the Why Jarrett Bay tour is must-visit section for you if you are looking to build a custom sportfish, as well as all the new photo galleries for each hull in the custom fleet section. One feature we look forward to developing and sharing over the next year is an in-depth look at the construction of our newest commission, Hull #57. The construction gallery for this 46\’ Sportfisherman will provide you with a visual walk-through of the entire custom Jarrett Bay construction process.
We also took a new approach to presenting our Service Yard and other Jarrett Bay department offerings, including our new eBay Marine Parts & Surplus Store. In addition, you’ll find a comprehensive archive of past and present news items, articles and testimonials to round out a much more full-bodied News section. Throughout the site, you’ll see an increased emphasis on social networking, including open comment boards on select pages (hull details and news items mainly), and links to our various virtual social scenes like Facebook and YouTube.
Technically speaking, the new site boasts a larger footprint and improved accessibility, and robust search engine optimization by way of validated XHTML mark-up – which means a more consistent experience for visitors using a variety of browsers or devices.
A large web site is always an evolving tool, and the new JarrettBay.com is no exception. We have many more features to unveil in the near future and hope you’ll come back often to see exciting new things unfold. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the new JarrettBay.com as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it all together for you.
