Dear Friends,
As this time of year approaches we are reminded of the loss of our dear friend and co-worker, Joy Gaskill, who was tragically taken from us in a fatal car accident in 2008.
Joy was kind and generous and had a strong desire to help anyone who was in need. As many of you may know, Joy had started a campaign for our company to build a Habitat for Humanity house in Carteret County. Joy believed that we have all been blessed with good fortune and that we should use this as an opportunity for us to give back to our community and help make a positive change in a family’s life.
Soon after Joy started this project she was taken from us. The Jarrett Bay family decided to go forward in the endeavor and dedicate the project to her memory therefore we created the “Joy Gaskill Memorial Fund” in connection with Habitat for Humanity.
April 26 marks the two year anniversary of our loss and has sparked a renewed push for us in our efforts to complete this worthy project. Thanks to many generous friends and co-workers of Joy’s we have a great start in our fundraising efforts, but as everyone knows, building a house is no small task.
So as an extension of the Jarrett Bay family, I am asking you all to help us in this worthy memorial. We still need donations, including volunteer labor, donated materials and most importantly funds. In the event you would be so kind to help us, please contact Michelle Sayani at my office. Otherwise, please help us share Joy’s generous spirit with a family in need and in the community she loved by remitting a donation to:
