67-ft Hull 66 “Sea Wish” Built to Tame Puerto Rico’s Windswept Waters
In late July 2021, Jarrett Bay Boatworks delivered their latest custom sportfish to a seasoned owner with grand fishing destinations on his offshore agenda. Custom hull 66, a 67-foot open bridge convertible named Sea Wish, boasts advanced electronics, a surplus of systems, luxurious finishes, and high-strength, lightweight composite construction.
Sea Wish was commissioned by an experienced owner who has been involved in the design & construction processes of Hull 66 from Day 1; Providing valuable input from his home port in Ponce, Puerto Rico, as well as over the course of many visits to Jarrett Bay’s facility in Beaufort, North Carolina, the new owner was very involved in crafting his interpretation of sportfishing perfection. Eagerly awaiting Sea Wish’s delivery day, the owner and crew have plans for extensive fishing ventures throughout the Caribbean, including St. Maarten, the Dominican Republic and beyond. The 2,000-gallon fuel capacity, Dometic SeaXchange & Spot Zero watermaker will ensure exceptional range without sacrificing the comforts of pulling into port each day.
The sleek exterior lines and evolved Carolina Flare® of Jarrett Bay’s hull 66 are complemented by the Alexseal Cloud White hull and topsides accented with a faux teak transom, toe rail, cabin molding and bridge cap — expertly rendered by Everett Nautical Designs. The custom tuna tower – designed, fabricated and installed by PipeWelders Marine – features a 9’ gap and upper helm station with redundant engine controls. The impressive height of this tuna tower is still shadowed by the 44-foot, four-spreader Super Rigger® outriggers.
Jarrett Bay Marine Park partner Gregory Poole Marine assisted with the installation of the twin Caterpillar C32A engines, each producing 1925 mhp. These engines are joined by a pair of Cat® C2.2T generators rated at 27 kW. The propulsion package is rounded out with Caterpillar’s advanced Three60® Precision Controls which works in tandem with the bow thruster via a joystick to aid in docking and provide precise control of the boat in any direction. With a 34-knot cruise @ 1950 rpm, and WOT clocking in at 41-knots, Jarrett Bay’s formally tested hull bottom and highly sought-after Carolina Flare™ bow feature will provide Hull 66 with one of the driest and fastest rides in her class.
Rounding out the stylish, and highly functional appeal of Jarrett Bay’s boats, Sea Wish’s famous flare gracefully transitions to a stunning broken shearline. As your eyes move forward, the front of the cabin and flybridge has the perfect measure of rake for a beautifully proportioned transition between the two. Moving aft down the cabin window and flybridge wings, precise symmetry renders a seamless union with the sweeping cabin wings. The methodical combination of state-of-the-art design engineering and time-honored art form make Sea Wish appear to be gracefully vaulting out of one wave ready to tame the next, even when she is at rest dockside.
Boarding the cockpit of this newest Jarrett Bay, anglers and guests are met with a top-of-the-line Release Marine fighting chair and expansive mezzanine with full tackle center to starboard. The business end of the boat is brimming with refrigerated and dry storage, ice boxes and additional compartments for cleaning supplies under the gunwales. The tackle center also conceals a double Kenyon electric grill. Quick access to the engine room is found in the centerline mezzanine compartment, while a ladder curving to starboard invites the crew to join the captain on the flybridge.
The flybridge impresses with a large center console helm featuring an incorporated 110-gallon freezer with access from both port and starboard. The sun lounge forward, along with port and starboard cushioned benches provide plenty of space for guests and storage beneath. The helm includes Jarrett Bay’s signature teak helm pod, and three Garmin displays: a pair of 22-inch units and a 17-inch. The hardtop underside includes a recessed electronics pod and is topped by a radar array and FLIR night vision.
When entering the salon, the satin-finished teak interior is warm and inviting, while featuring select high gloss pieces to provide a luxurious accent. The console to starboard conceals a 55-inch Smart TV and illuminated custom bottle and glass storage. To port is the L-settee, with a U-shaped dinette forward. The large galley forward to starboard boasts a spacious island with Release Marine barstools, as well 3 under-counter Sub-Zero refrigeration & freezer units in the main cabinetry run. The stunning teak hardwood flooring with maple inlay was handmade by Jarrett Bay’s highly skilled craftsmen and is flanked by ultra-soft, highly durable carpeting.
Just before heading down the stairs to enter the companionway, there is a door to starboard that gains access to a large pantry built-in to the brow area of the cabin top. Hand-made hardwood accents & luxurious carpeting continue down forward throughout the 4-stateroom, 3-head layout of hull 66. Two bunkrooms to port are split by a full head and separate closet with stacking washer dryer.
The forward stateroom boasts a walk-around queen berth with private head access and a central A/V system with Smart TV. The master stateroom amidships to starboard is a true owner’s retreat with dual nightstands, large ensuite head, central A/V system, Smart TV and plenty of storage. Plus, hidden storage beneath the berth is accessed via an electrically assisted lift system. All four staterooms include full-sized cedar-lined closets and ample storage. Rod and reel storage enjoy a dedicated space with accent lighting and a custom-etched artglass door.
Jarrett Bay’s team of designers, engineers and master craftsmen continue to set new standards with each delivery, and Hull 66 is no exception.
