The fastest conventionally powered sportfish built to date
Recognizing the hydrodynamically efficient, structurally robust, and superior sea keeping hull attributes found in Jarrett Bay Boatworks custom sportfishers, MTU has partnered in the development of the Jarrett Bay 70 to optimize her propulsion system and performance. The ultimate goal – to demonstrate how significantly improved vessel performance could be achieved through comprehensive analysis associated with proper matching of the engine, reduction gear, propeller and hull form.
An extensive series of tank tests were conducted and applied to the Jarrett Bay 70 for a “truly optimized” system, complete with custom propellers. The results of this joint effort speak for themselves. The Jarrett Bay 70 attained a top speed of 48 knots at 2450 engine rpm during her preliminary sea trials off the coast of Beaufort, North Carolina, surpassing the expectations of all aboard. At her cruise speed of 40 knots at 2000 engine rpm, each engine burned an economical 82 gph. Testing is ongoing, and more good news to share in the coming months is anticipated.
Designed for avid anglers to fish and travel with all of the comforts of the home and office, this latest addition to the Jarrett Bay family continues to raise the bar on custom sportfish design and functionality. Rivaling the impressiveness of her engineering feats, the interior layout & design leave the competition in her wake. High gloss cherry interior, granite counters and a considerable amount of inlay work throughout, give her a light, yet luxurious look.
The 70’ Jarrett Bay can be customized with a generous four stateroom, three full baths layout. Other options include: extensive systems for extended travel such as chilled water A/C system for hot weather climates; two Onan generator sets; dual water & ice makers, and a pump room with redundant systems for anything imperative to her operation. Topside is crowned by a half tower and a massive flybridge with plenty of storage, seating, and the newest electronics available.
In the highly competitive custom sportfish market, this Jarrett Bay battlewagon is a proven formula for maximizing your time on the water.
