The spring and summer season is off to a record breaking start with many great additions & improvements to our full-service Marine Industrial Park (MIP). Bausch American & IMS’ 30,000 sq. ft. building is complete and already very busy with indoor tower & electronics installs. Powell Brothers Maintenance opened their commercial yard at the MIP, allowing us to segregate the commercial vessel traffic to a separate lot for maintenance – giving us more room to work on & store recreational vessels. The addition of Moores Marine, a major restoration and repairer outfit specializing in Trumpy’s and other “Golden Era” yachts, will bring even more business to our facility.
We completed dredging of the basin recently giving us approximatley 10’ at MLW in our basin. We have recently gained permitting to install an additional dockage space on the ICW, as well as a 150’ floating T-dock to be located parallel to our shoreline on the ICW south side of the basin. These improvements will allow us to have even more dockage for repair and transient vessels.
We completed numerous major service projects this winter, repairing the 52’ Jarrett Bay Bill Collector that suffered damage due to an accidental collision by another vessel while moored in its slip. Jarrett Bay’s Hull #1 Sensation also suffered minor damage and was repaired. Captain Glenn Loftin brought the 53’ Jarrett Bay Frequent Flyer in for some new covering boards, touch-up paint work and other annual maintenance items. The 58’ Viking Legacy and Charleston’s 60’ Blackwell Rapid Pace & 53’ Ocean Ali L arrived for annual maintenance and paint work. Major renovation work continues on the 1965 43’ Rybovich Liberty from Long Island, New York. The 78’ Buddy Davis Plastic Toy was one of the first of many to arrive for spring maintenance while transiting North. We will be doing paint work, new strut bearings, brightwork and numerous other maintanance jobs on Capt. Dana’s vessel prior to depature. We are humbled that so many of you
from near & far choose Jarrett Bay as your service facility year after year, and are exceptionally
honored to to have the 54’ Custom Carolina Sportfish Evelyn, owned by the Seijo Family, here undergoing a major face lift all the way from San Juan. We are handling the fairing and painting, exterior brightwork, new carpeting, headliner and wallpaper updates. She is also having new ZF Mathers electronic controls, new flat screen TVs, new stereo equipment, and a new Bausch American Tower installed while here. We will also be installing new headhunter toilets, a microwave convection oven, lighting in the salon, galley, engineroom, in addition to many other maintenance items.
We have recently been designated a Mastervolt authorized service center for their electrical components, including battery chargers and generator sets. We are also going through Onan Generator training that will allow us to provide warranty and regular service for their products in the coming year. Hatteras once again presented us with their highest service recognition, the Platinum Service Medallion.
Last but not least, additional Jarrett Bay crew have successfully completed an ABYC electrical
course, so we now have a total of six certified electricians on hand, two in the repair yard and four in new construction.
We thank all of you for your patronage and look forward to continuing our relationship with each and every one of you this coming season and beyond.
