Our dear friend & employee, Joy Gaskill’s dream of building a Habitat 4 Humanity home will be realized in early 2012.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of so many, Jarrett Bay & Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity are proud to announce that construction will begin in January of 2012 for the Simons family’s new home. We are honored to share this experience with them.
Randy’s note to employees & those involved:
Good day friends,
I wanted to write you and share some great news for Christmas.
As you all know Joy Gaskill started a fund for our company to build a Habitat for Humanity house in our community. Soon after she started the effort she was taken from us, but all of you helped to keep the dream of building a home in her honor moving forward. Many of you have donated time and effort to help raise money and all of you have contributed to our company with the efforts you make each day. Recently we learned the last hurdle was finding a parcel of land that was suitable. With the help of Dale Britt and Bill at the Ship’s Store, we were able to find a vacant lot. Our company has purchased it for the home and will give it to Habitat before the end of the year.
Today Bill and I met with the family and told them about the lot and the fact their dream of a home would be a reality. They were overcome with emotion and it was clear that they had almost given up on ever having a home. As we talked they said this was the “best Christmas ever”.
This could never have taken place without Joy’s vision and all of your efforts either directly for the home or helping ensure the success of Jarrett Bay. I am grateful to each of you and my hope is that you will be blessed as never before this Christmas.
Randy
